As an Application Engineer on the BYU Library’s IT Operations team, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining a variety of interconnected 3rd party applications that keep the library running and provide access to library resources for students and faculty at BYU and within the Church Education System. You will be responsible for ensuring that the applications fit within the library’s IT infrastructure and function as designed. When customizations are required, you will ensure that all dependencies are considered and coordinated with the library’s software engineering team. You must have a wide variety of skills ranging from technical knowledge to communication and requirement gathering between the users, library employees and vendors. While library application experience is preferred, we expect that most applicants will be proficient in these skills but would need to learn about the specific applications after they start. While the work itself is deeply rewarding, as a Application Engineer at the BYU Library you will also receive compelling benefits such as 22 vacation days and 12 sick days each year, 401k matching, excellent medical/dental benefits, and discounts on the many sporting and cultural events at BYU.
